my year in the miller theater, volume 2
Welcome to volume 2 of my year at The Miller and thank you for showing up. I introduce a few new rooms (hello projector and uh, lady's bathroom ante-room...) and their treasures as well as establishing some returns from earlier. Here's looking at you , front door, phones and stairwell. The projector room was awesome and I would have loved to shoot there more, but shortly after my photo shoot with Ashley as you will see below, the lock was changed and I was unable gain access to the room. Oh, and for the record, it was not because I did anything, but there were quite a few copies made of the key from other people, so I think the powers that be wanted to limit access where possible.

Notes: Outside of Rachel's photo (you will see later on) I think this is my favorite of the phone booth series, I really like the texture towards the ceiling | Speaking of ceiling and texture, that stairwell again | Ahh, the ladies room ante room thingy, this room was a challenge and great learning experience | Sta, sta, stairwell... | This light series is in the electrical/generator room, tripod set up of various exposures followed by a photo of where the light was coming in from the fan | Such a nice projector room you were.

My second session in The Miller, the beautiful Ms. Ashley, who was a fantastic model and so very lovely to work with as I experimented with new spaces. And of official note, to Rachel and I's knowledge is the bequeather of knowledge that to be a proper Augustan lady, one has no fear of the roof ladders as they "...are just like climbing a tree stand.", something neither Rachel and I had understanding of. The first four are from the ladies bathroom ante room (if anyone knows of the proper name, please let me know), which this first go round proved to be a no so successful attempt at playing with a strong, single source light and no reflector or strobes. While not particularly strong from an execution point, we set these first few Miller photo sessions up for practice and experimentation so that we could refine our skills. The Miller was a great teacher for us and our process. On to the projector room which includes one of my all time favorite photos from my time at The Miller, and finishing up with "tree stand" like adventure of the roof.
